Annette works hard with each client to develop and maintain
their own lifetime fitness strategy. She analyzes each of her client's
needs and works out a specific plan to meet them by setting attainable
goals. Her clients are inspired to meet the goals because the goals are reasonable, rational and fully attainable, one step at a time.
Annette guided me through a major transformation in my life. I am 5’4” and weighed 192 pounds when I decided to lose weight and get in shape. She provided me with nutritional advice and planned, incremental physical exercise that was designed to slowly bring me along. After a full year, I had lost 60 pounds and was able to have a productive, active life. I even conquered a life long fear of water and learned to swim so that I could participate in the Danskin triathlon the next year. Though I know I did it myself, I value her insight, motivation and guidance very much. I would recommend her to anyone and everyone wanting to get in shape or stay in shape.

Working with Annette over the past couple years has changed my exercise habits from being sporadic to becoming an integral part of my life. She has helped me recover from a couple injuries and now I have learned how to prevent becoming injured again. I’m more aware of my diet now, and it’s changing too. My recent physical had my cholesterol back in the normal range after being high for a few years. This is all good stuff for me and to top it all off Annette has made it a lot of fun. I've accomplished 3 sprint and 1 oympic distance triathlons and have improved my running speed by participating in the 2008 monthly 5k/10k Fitness for Vitality Runs. I’m in a much better place now than 2 years ago.
Thanks Annette.

I have more energy and I sleep better. Since I've worked with Annette I am motivated to exercise regularly, and motivate my kids to be more active. Plus she's helped me learn to eat better. My workouts have translated into my being more coordinated and athletic in my daily life.

During my 10 weeks of work with Annette, my one-mile went down from a 6:29 to a 6:19. And my four-mile went from a 7:38 mile average to a 6:59 mile average.I now feel younger and more vibrant. I feel like I'm in my 20's again and that is exciting. It is because of a lot of little things done right. Learning to have better form when running ultimately has and will help me to be a better long-term runner. It has been very helpful to me to learn to use and strengthen my inner core and other support muscles throughout the body that other instructors don't focus on. I expect that my new running and weight training form will give me further improvement and will help keep me from injury as well.

I like having someone trained to watch my form, if the right muscles are responding, and I'm progressing in strength and endurance. Annette is particularly focused on these points. She is also skillful in designing specific exercise progressions which help me recover from injuries or prepare for a goal, such as climbing to the summit of Mt. Baker."

Exercise, I felt, was a chore to be engaged in only when my body rebelled against my sedentary pursuits, or a weight increase could no longer be carefully not noticed. I'd go to the gym, go on a diet, get fit, slim down, and consider my chore done, thank goodness. And go back to my happy inactive life. Inevitably the hard-earned muscle flabbed, and the weight crept back. Eventually the unpleasant spectre of exercise would rear its ugly head. Groan. Then I started working out with Annette. Her knowledge and skill, her encouragement, her ideas about what do, and how to keep things fresh and interesting have been major players in my change from someone who thought taking a short walk was quite something, to someone who thinks of a 3 hour bike ride followed by an hour and half's kayaking as fun play, not the fulfillment of a tedious duty. Annette shares her own goals and setbacks and is a great example. She has helped me get and stay on track with my goals: a missed appointment that I thought merited no more than a quick re-scheduling call became an in-depth discussion as Annette refused to let me hang up until we had jointly planned the coming week's exercise; a lapse on my part brought a helpful re-phrasing from Annette and a different, more positive way to see and work with it. My friends have noticed, and are surprised at the change in me. Said one "how impressed I am that you spent a day biking AND kayaking! Sounds lovely, and terribly active! You're my new role model!
Thanks, Annette!

Why Annette rules:
When I started going to Annette for training sessions, my arms and hands were pretty weak from tendonitis issues. Since working with her and slowly working up my strength training, I no longer get the numbness and pain in my limbs. She excels at keeping me on track, motivated, and holding me accountable when I fall off the wagon! She is a lot of fun to work with and she truly cares about my success.
